Scott W.  Urquhart is an insurance litigator and one of the founding members of Lindsay LLP.

Scott advises insurance companies on coverage matters and represents insurers in coverage disputes.  He acts for both plaintiffs and defendants in complex multi-party litigation arising from property losses and construction disputes.  Scott has represented officers and directors of companies, architects, contractors, and owners.

Scott also acts for both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury matters and has experience in commercial and fraud litigation.  He has successfully appeared before all levels of British Columbia’s courts, WCAT and the BC Human Rights Tribunal.

Whether working with his clients, appearing in court or dealing with opposing parties, Scott places a premium on professionalism and courtesy while vigorously advancing his clients’ interests towards an economical and fair resolution.

Born and raised in British Columbia’s Cariboo region, Scott taught on Vancouver Island for several years before attending law school.  He has presented at conferences of the Continuing Legal Education Society and Canadian Defence Lawyers.  He has published several articles on insurance related issues and is a contributing author to CLE BC’s Advising British Columbia Businesses.
